How Alex Wann's Milkshakes Brought All The Boys To The Yard
Alex Wann is a deep house music machine - mixing tracks and milkshakes all summer long - literally. But where did he come from and how did he become a practical overnight sensation?
Alex Wann is a Parisian DJ and producer who has shaken up the deep house music scene extraordinarily quickly.
This seemingly overnight sensation began when Wann had the miraculous idea to revamp Kelis’ OG song, “Milkshake”. But wait, it doesn’t end there. After Queen Peggy Gou released her summer hit, “(It Goes Like) Nanana”, Wann and Sasson remixed the hell out of it. Who thought tracks from icons like Kelis and Peggy Gou could get any better? Obviously Wann did.
From then on the world famous trio, Keinemusik, got a hold of Wann’s weapons and fed their crowds all summer long. From dropping Wann’s mixes at their show in Tel Aviv to dropping it at the Brooklyn Mirage in New York, the crowd went gaga.
Just look at that crowd reaction -

As soon as the world got a taste of Wann’s milkshakes, the rest of the world obviously needed a taste. DJ’s from all over were dropping Wann’s unreleased weapons. Artists like Diplo, Adriatique, Camelphat, John Summit, BLOND:ISH, Pete Tong, Carlita, and many more have been spinning it in their sets all over the world.
Wann’s journey has only just begun. With just one track, he has been able to create a name for himself amongst the deep house music community. “Milkshake 20” has been circulating at the speed of light, same with his remix of Gou’s summer hit. Wann’s ability to create music as mind-blowing as this, is why the house music community has been and still is going wild.
Wann, we are hungry for more, so please, show us what you’ve got.
