Each of us was on a different path in life, but our shared passion for EDM inspired us to create something bigger than ourselves. We wanted to offer others the incredible experiences we've been fortunate enough to enjoy, but with our own unique twist.”

What’s the driving force behind Project Commocean?

“The heart and soul of Project Commocean is the crowd. Every effort we make is directed towards creating the best possible crowd experience for our attendees. We aim for people to easily interact with each other and transform into one big “ocean” for the night. The reciprocal energy between the crowd and the music is paramount, and we believe in the power of music to forge unforgettable connections.”

The name "Project Commocean" has a vibrant ring to it, suggesting a lot of movement and energy. How does this spirit come through in your brand's identity and the vibe you’re aiming to create at your events?

“The name "commocean" in Project Commocean represents the commotion of the ocean, symbolizing the lively and emotional atmosphere that comes alive in dance music crowds and festivals. Our brand’s identity is rooted in this metaphor. We aim to create events that feel like an ocean, with blue lighting and an intimate vibe. We hope to sail on this journey with our fans, crafting memorable experiences along the way.”

It’s clear that art and activism play a big role in your organization. How do you plan to showcase this unique intersection at your very first event and behind the scenes?

“Art and activism are integral to Project Commocean. Our logo, a dynamic synthesis of sound and design, embodies the rhythmic energy of the ocean. When the word "commocean" is spoken into a microphone, it creates a sound wave that transforms into a handcrafted wave design. This makes our logo a distinctive and memorable symbol. Additionally, we plan to collaborate with ocean conservation sponsors, reflecting our commitment to environmental sustainability.”

What’s in store for your upcoming event. Can you give us a little sneak peek about what attendees can expect in terms of the atmosphere, the music, and the overall experience?

“Picture a warm, breezy NYC summer night. We have five amazing acts lined up on a beautiful rooftop overlooking the Hudson River, the New York City skyline, and the Statue of Liberty. Our dance floor, or "ocean," will be wide open, offering a free-flowing space for attendees. The rooftop will be bathed in blue light with minimal production to highlight the stunning location and environment. Blue and white lights will transform the rooftop into our envisioned ocean.”

With your premiere event just around the corner, what aspect are you most excited about, and what do you hope attendees will take away from this experience?

“We are most excited about creating a beautiful, shared experience for our attendees. We believe our acts can generate high energy through music alone, bringing EDM back to its roots. The focus is on the music and the dance floor, rather than the DJ booth. This is the essence of the commocean – a place where the music takes center stage.”

“The first event is a pivotal moment for Project Commocean. It’s not only a testament to our hard work but also a marker for the journey ahead.
