Universo Paralello Brazil
The Universo Paralello festival (roughly translated to Parallel Universe festival) is the heart and soul of Brazilian Psy-trance community, which lasts for nine full days of non-stop music. It’s also one of the most international festivals in the country, and one of the largest festivals in all South America. The festival is known for showcasing some of South America’s best upcoming dance music talent.
Amidst the turmoil of these modern times, a window opens, an opportunity to experience something unique, radically different from the web of connections, commitments, the living wheel, the civilizational matrix of established rules to which we are subjected, in the routines of our lives. This space is created to allow the flourishing of a great collective organism that, for eight days, will radiate the energy of freedom, delight, encounter and celebration throughout the planet. And in these eight days of celebration, let us all be complicit... in building an atmosphere of freedom and tolerance. Of creativity and boldness and a deep respect for nature, utopia is the key and the secret. The true gateway to an authentic parallel universe. Once again, and always, welcome to Universo Paralello!
23 years ago, a group of friends gathered in the heart of Brazil to celebrate the arrival of another new year. Young people, moved by new things and influenced by the electronic wave that came from the eastern seas, decided to celebrate the new times in a different, more fun way. A new universe was born there, the Parallel Universe. Getting here was an adventure, not everything was rosy, but the obstacles only made us stronger. Everyone's help and belief were fundamental. The sum of forces between organizers and the public, in the same direction, and in the name of freedom of expression, is the pillar of this great celebration.
Believing in this movement is keeping alive the human essence of a real peaceful and harmonious coexistence between species. What sounded utopian happened. Armed with hope and art, all of us, sweet barbarians, changed part of Brazilian cultural life, we made history, we fulfilled a dream that began on a journey of love and peace in the last century. Our Paralello Universe completes two decades marked by yet another encounter with the lands of Bahia. Many years of stories, of reinterpretations of global psychedelia, bringing together a big family. We don't stick to rules, we stick to what our heart tells us! It is within this spirit, respecting differences and seeking unity (we are all one) that Universo Paralello will meet with thousands of people in yet another great celebration.
