Top Tech House DJ's 2023

2023 has been hell of a year for house music, specifically in the tech-house genre. We have witnessed our top artists continue to produce heaters while also introducing new artists into the mix.

Tech house is a genre of electronic dance music that combines elements of both techno and house music. It’s the fusion of the rhythmic and percussive characteristics of techno with the groovy and melodic elements of house music. Tech house tracks often have a driving, addictive beat, with a focus on four-on-the-floor rhythm patterns, which means a steady kick drum on each beat.

Some key features of tech house are:

  • Groove: Tech house is known for its infectious and danceable grooves. It often incorporates funky basslines, catchy melodies, and rhythmically complex percussion elements.

  • Minimalism: Tech house tracks tend to have a minimalist approach, with a stripped-down sound that emphasizes the essential elements, creating a hypnotic and repetitive quality.

  • Synths and Effects: Tech house often incorporates synthesizers and various sound effects to create unique textures and atmospheres within the tracks.

  • Mixing Elements: DJs and producers often use mixing techniques like filtering, delay, and reverb to manipulate and shape sounds during live performances and in the studio.

  • Vocals: While tech house tracks may include vocal samples or snippets, they typically take a back seat to the instrumental elements, focusing more on the rhythm and groove.

Tech house has a broad and diverse range of styles and sub-genres, but it is generally associated with a high-energy and club-friendly sound. It's a popular genre in the electronic dance music scene and is mostly heard in our favorite nightclubs and music festivals.

This year has been an amazing year of experimentation within the tech house scene, so let’s dive into some of our top artists of 2023.

FISHER

Starting strong with our powerhouse, FISHER. Paul Fisher, but famously known as FISHER, has been a large name in the house music scene. FISHER gained international recognition with his track “LOSING IT” back in 2018. And you best believe this track still has us losing it. The track has almost 500 MILLION plays on spotify and clearly is not going anywhere. This track has been and will remain a staple for the house music scene.

But as for 2023, FISHER has been releasing banger after banger under his record label, Catch & Release. When the world first got a taste of the track “TAKE IT OFF”, all we wanted to do was quite literally take our mother f*cking clothes off. This track spiraled in virality all over social media. Fans have been begging FISHER to release the track and finally, he took it off in June of 2023.

FISHER is not only known for his great ear for electronic music, but also his wild energy. FISHER’s energy is truly infectious and he brings that with him to every single show of his. Experiencing FISHER live is one hell of a show that everyone must experience at least once in their lives.

Shortly after his release with AATIG, FISHER released “Atmosphere” with Kita Alexander. Holy moly, another banger by FISHER. His career has always been booming, but with these two tracks alone in 2023, his fan base grew even larger and more loyal. We all love the FISH and cannot wait to see what other tracks he’s got in store for us.

CHRIS LAKE

Chris Lake is not one of our new tech house artists. For those who know, Chris Lake has been around for quite some time now. Let’s backtrack a little bit… all the way up to around 2002. Yes, you read that right - 2002. Mr. Lake has been around creating bangers for much longer than some of our other notable artists.

Lake has collaborated and experimented with many great artists and created numerous different sounds throughout his DJ career. But the last few years have definitely been significant years for Lake’s career. He has solidified and truly found his sound. Lake has paved the way for being a top tech house artist.

This year alone he released

  • VIP edit of his song “Deceiver” with Green Velvet

  • Remix of “Fool For Love” - Harry Romero ft. Leo Wood

  • Beggin’” ft. Aluna

  • More Baby” ft. Aluna and the VIP edit

Chris Lake has been making music & magic and is showing no sign of stopping any time soon. His career has been rapidly growing especially with his other half, FISHER, at their ‘Under Construction’ shows that we all know and love.

All in all, Lake has established his dedicated fan base and earned his role as being a skilled  producing tech house DJ.

DOM DOLLA

Hauling all the way from Australia, we have Dom Dolla. Dom is known for his hot house tracks… and his mustache. Dom Dolla has been creating music for quite some time now, but this year alone his career has taken off by ten fold.

Some of his hot tracks from this year alone are:

  • “Rhyme Dust” ft. MK

  • Eat Your Man” ft. Nelly Furtado

  • “Saving Up”

  • Remix of Tame Impala and Bootie Brown’s “New Gold”

Dom Dolla has been creating tracks but the bottom line is that he has definitely found his signature sound as a tech house DJ. His knack for an infectious track is why we’re here and why he is on our top tech house artists for this year.

Beyond Dom’s talent, he has been playing back to back with John Summit for their combined show, ‘Everything Always’, which their fans have been eating up. Dom is a powerhouse on his own and we cannot wait to see what else he has saved up for us.

Mau P

Standing out from the previously mentioned artists, we have newbie Mau P. Mau P’s career has just taken off this year alone and has become basically an overnight sensation. In such a short amount of time, Mau P has left an insane mark on the house music community.

Since his viral hit “Drugs From Amsterdam”, the name Mau P has been circulating worldwide. This youngin’ has had a deep passion for house music since a young age and it's evident in the music he creates for us.

For an artist as fresh as Mau P it is seriously impressive to witness all the incredible music he has made thus far and the different record labels he has been releasing under. From Afterlife to Black Book to Experts Only, Mau P is unstoppable.

Some notable tracks he released this year alone are:

  • “Your Mind Is Dirty”

  • I Want Your Soul” (Mau P Remix) - Armand Van Helden

  • Metro” with Kevin De Vries

  • “Gimme That Bounce”

  • Dress Code”

With so many hot tracks in such a short amount of time, and with a multitude of unreleased tracks, we can't wait to see what other goodies he has for us.

John Summit

And last but certainly not least, we have John Schuster… Sorry Summit. Summit’s career has been one hell of a ride. From being off the grid to an expert only, we’ve been here for it all. Summit truly does have talent. Not only for good music, but also for being the bender king.

We love a DJ who can do it all, not only create the music, but vibe to it all night (and day) long. John Summit is his own biggest fan, and rightfully so. With music as intoxicating as his, he earns the right to be.

These past few years have been huge for his career, but especially 2023. With his own record label he is able to create a space for his own music and a place to introduce new artists into the mix as well.

Summit’s tracks range from sexy and summery to fierce and techno-ey, but deep down, we all know and love Summit for his tech house music.

Some of his top tracks from this year are:

  • Where You Are” ft. Hayla

  • Legacy” ft. VLTRA

  • “Fade Out” ft. MKLA

  • Remix of Deadmau5 & Kaskade, “I Remember

  • Moving All Around” Remix

Summit has arguably become the face behind house music this year. With his insanely loyal fan base and insane talent, we cannot wait to see what other soundscapes Summit will tread into. His musical career is one you most definitely want to follow.

All in all, this year really has been a remarkable one for the tech house lovers. We love to see our favorite artists continue to make music and bask in their talent. We love to see the community and unity within the house music world and we love to see new artists come into the picture.

Keep up the work fella’s - and hey, maybe release some of those unreleased ID’s, you’re killing us.
