Top Minimal Tech DJ's of 2023

Time to dive into the funky deep realm of Minimal Tech House Music.

Minimal tech is a subgenre of a subgenre. Within the house music world, we have Tech House. But take it another step, we meet Minimal Tech; A near and dear friend of ours, with a special place in our house music hearts.

This year has been a phenomenal year for the artists who have found themselves lying within this genre. And, to be blunt, this genre may not tickle everyone's hot spot… but for those who love a good dose of minimal tech, you’ve come to the right place.

With all the amazing and unique artists we have seen, we have culminated our tops from this year and present them to you as follows:

PAWSA

PAWSA, whose real name is David Esekhile, a UK native, has built himself a solid reputation in the tech house → minimal tech house music scene. Pawsa has been in the scene for quite some time now, but in recent years his work has really solidified his sound and his production style.

PAWSA has created tracks under several renowned record labels such as Solid Grooves Records, LOST RECORDS, PAWZ, and Electronique. PAWSA’s tracks are distinct from other artists which merits his wide scale recognition and loyal fan base.

His sound is characterized by straight-forward and stripped-down house tracks that are made strictly for those who love to beep-bop on the dance floor into the wee hours of the night (probably morning). His tracks feature eccentric grooves, skimpy lyrics, and loaded vocal samples.

In 2023 alone he has released

  • ON THE MOVE”

  • “TAKE ME HIGH”

  • “DOG DAYS”

PAWSA’s entire sound and aesthetic are extremely unique and we cannot wait to see what other goodies he has lined up for us.

Joseph Capriati

Joseph Capriati is an Italian DJ and producer who has solidified his name among minimal tech lovers. No matter the place, the case, the festival, you can bet your buck that Capriati will be a top headliner.

Considering his significant time in the house music world, you can argue that the man does have a talented ear for a good tune. Capriati doesn’t have to do much to woo his fans, it’s just him.

Although Capriati has not released any tracks in 2023, his name still remains a prominent one and it does not seem like his fandom is going anywhere. Capriati still plays at some of the largest festivals in the world. Capriati has done a multitude of back to backs with other big wigs in the house music world, like an all time favorite, Michael Bibi.

Capriati’s sound is honestly the epitome of minimal tech house music. With such a unique and distinct sound, Capriati’s not going anywhere, not on our watch. We anticipate that he will continue to produce and release music for his dedicated and loving fans in the near future.

Hot Since 82

Hot Since 82, whose real name is Daley Padley, treks all the way from the UK. Born in 1982, the man’s got a long history with house music and it's ever so obvious in the addictive tracks he tosses out to us.

His tracks energize us with the perfect touch and sound of pulsating beats, hot rhythms, and sexy lyrics. One could argue that his tricks are the perfect mix of sugar, spice, and everything nice.

Hot Since 82 has traveled all over the world, played at some of the most iconic venues, and some of the most wild ones. For those who know, a must watch is his set live from a Pirate Ship on the coast of Ibiza. Yes, a pirate ship. Check it out -

Hot Since 82 is no different from any fellow house music go-er. Back in his teenage years, he used to DJ at his hometown clubs and became known for his 12-hour weekend sets. From there, he began traveling to Ibiza in 2003 and there began his residency at Cream Ibiza in 2006. After some time and becoming quite tired of the commercial Ibiza sound, he transitioned into one of our favorite minimal tech house artists.

He’s released numerous tracks with other famous artists that we all know and love, but some of his top tracks from 2023 are:

  • Never Enough” ft. Us Two, Paige Cavell

  • “Love Me”

  • “Atomic Sun”

  • “Sinnerman” ft. Henrik Schwarz, Ed Graves

We have loved following Hot Since 82’s house music journey and are excited to see where else his career path will turn.

Chris Stussy

Shifting gears a bit, we have (fairly) newbie Chris Stussy. Young and hot, we love a new face among the minimal tech scene. Only 21 years young, he has achieved several remarkable accomplishments in such a short amount of time.

Just this year alone Stussy’s career has reached insane highs. Having played at Club Space in Miami to TimeWarp Festival in New York, Stussy is on a one way train to fame and we are so here for it.

A big thanks to today’s modern day and age, because that’s where a lot of the hype began and continuously built up around Stussy’s magic touch on the boards. Videos of Stussy have been circulating for the past year now and he has truly become a destination DJ that we all want to hear live.

In 2020, Stussy unveiled his label “Up The Stuss”, but a main claim to his fame are the tracks he has been releasing as of late. One could say, Stuss is evolving every year and coming closer and closer to his own distinct sound.

Just this year, Stussy has released:

  • His EP “Midtown Playground”

  • His album “Sense of Future”

  • His EP “All Night Long”

What can we say? Stussy’s got that magic touch and we simply can't get enough.

Michael Bibi

Last, but definitely not least, we have LEGEND, Michael Bibi. Bibi is arguably the face of the underground house music scene. He’s been around for longer than however old you are who's reading this. We don’t use the term legend lightly around here, it has to be rightfully earned and deserved, and Bibi is the perfect candidate.

We all know what happened with Bibi this past year - for those who are unaware, Bibi has/is beating a severe and serious type of cancer and had to put a pause on his music career. Amidst the chaos that Bibi has been enduring, we have not forgotten about the hold he's got over us.

Bibi’s tracks are known for their fresh, flavorful, and distinct beat. His tracks speak for him and the volume is bloody loud. Bibi has his own renowned record labels - Solid Grooves and SG Raw. His music is the perfect recipe for making you get up and groove without any conscious awareness, it’s simply that dang good.

This year has been considerably tough for Bibi, but he did release a banger that was hot enough to hold us over for some time - “Different Side” with KinAhau and Bullys.

Bibi has been making music for decades now and we cannot wait to watch the ultimate recovery and watch him sprout into his natural habitat once again. Bibi, you f*cking legend, we love you and pray for your recovery.
