Can you take us back to where it all began? What sparked your passion for music? Were there any pivotal moments or influences during your early years that shaped your musical journey, and how did you develop into an Afrohouse producer?
"I started listening to electronic music at 15. I was lucky to meet Luciano (Vagabundos) through his daughter, who went to the same school as me. That’s when I first fell in love with house, Afro, and minimal music. Over the years, I explored various electronic styles—deep, EDM, melodic—but eventually returned to my roots, blending Afro and deep house with percussion and melody."
FAMAX has been a massive hit, especially being played by big names like Keinemusik. Can you walk us through the creative process behind the track? How did the idea for a Latin-inspired song in Spanish come to you as a Swiss artist, and what do the lyrics translate to? Where did you get the vocals, and who did you work with on creating the track? Also, having this be your first track, did you think it was going to blow up as big as it did?
"Fun fact, I created FAMAX at a Starbucks in Geneva, just trying to find my musical style, with no plans to release it. When I played it for my friend, we both realized it had potential with its catchy vocals and mix of Afro and melodic sounds. It was the 50th track I produced where I felt it could finally be 'the one.' I sent it to Adam Port, and things took off from there, with support from Moblack and other big names in the industry. The vocals came from a sample, and seeing the track’s success, I wanted to highlight the voice of Sasha Wrist, the main vocalist."
Every artist has their inspirations. Who are the artists or producers you look up to the most, and how have they influenced your sound and approach to music production? Who would be your dream collaboration with any artist, producer, or DJ, and why?
"Many artists have inspired me over time across different electronic music styles, but I’ve consistently listened to Luciano, Hot Since 82, and Rampa."
FAMAX has set the bar high. What’s next for you? Are there any new tracks or collaborations in the works that we should be excited about? And do you have any upcoming shows where fans can catch you live, especially in the USA?
"I have a lot of tracks on my computer, and I'm eager to share them. Deciding which one to release next isn't easy, but I trust I'll know when the time is right. I'm driven to keep creating, so there will be plenty of new music coming soon. I am excited to be playing my first U.S. show, in NYC, on August 24 with Amoura. Plus, I have some surprises along the way—like collaborations—might come up in the next few months.”
When you’re not in the studio or performing, what do you enjoy doing in your free time? Are there any hobbies or interests that might surprise your fans?
"Music is my outlet, so even in my downtime, I’m often making music, experimenting with new sounds and styles. It keeps me energized and creative, allowing me to push my boundaries while staying connected to my roots. Aside from music, I have a big love for food—pizza, pasta, and sushi are definitely some of my favorite hobbies 😂. I'm also passionate about summer, boating, and soaking up the sun—it's pure joy for me."
