Jake Resnicow curates Electric Zoo's inaugural LGBTQ+ stage: Dreamland

Electric Zoo Hyperspace is one of the year’s most highly anticipated festivals, taking over Randall’s Island Park this Labor Day weekend for their most diverse lineup yet.

Today, Electric Zoo is proud to highlight Dreamland, the festival’s inaugural LGBTQ+ stage, presented by esteemed event producer, promoter, and one of Out100's “Most Influential LGBTQ+ People,” Jake Resnicow. This native New Yorker has presented some of the world’s biggest ticketed LGBTQ celebrations headlined by top musical artists such as Janet Jackson and Katy Perry. This announcement comes hot off the heels of Dreamland’s recent sold out show in NYC's Central Park with Purple Disco Machine and Paris Hilton, featuring surprise performances by Kim Petras, Aqua and Billy Porter.

“Curating Dreamland, the first LGBTQ+ stage at Electric Zoo Festival, is an incredibly momentous occasion, and an absolute honor. The Dreamland stage serves as a beacon of empowerment and representation. By spotlighting LGBTQ+ artists and artists who are considered allies, we not only showcase their incredible talents but also inspire the next generation of diverse artists and fans. It's about creating a space where people can express themselves freely, connect authentically, and celebrate the beautiful spectrum of identities within our community. Dreamland is not just a stage—it is a movement that fosters love, acceptance, and growth within our community. We are thrilled to be leading this change and celebrating the power of music and diversity." - Jake Resnicow

On Friday Sept 1, Dreamland will feature an array of talented artists, offering a platform for their unique voices alongside allies while celebrating the rich diversity within the dance music industry. Today, EZoo also announced a super-special surprise: Eli Escobar will join Electric Zoo to headline the Dreamland stage! Joining him are seven other thrilling acts that will make life even more dreamier during their high-energy performances at the Dreamland stage takeover.

If versatility is the way to unlock success as a DJ-producer, Eli Escobar has long had the key. As a legend of NYC’s music scene, Escobar has a penchant for soulful vocals and expressive melodies atop a scorcher of an acid bassline that always livens up the dance floor. He shares, “I’m so happy to be part of such an institution that takes place in my home town.”

The Blessed Madonna’s boisterous, brilliant performances over the years has earned her a global following – whose appreciation is ever more cemented by her array of earworm-y originals and remixes, working alongside Dua Lipa’s, garage legend Todd Edwards, and co-producing Fred Again's mega hit "Marea (We Lost Dancing)."

Chicago native and now L.A. resident Kaskade is dance music royalty and an EZoo veteran. Whether it’s the stirring sounds, organic instrumentals, or captivating vocals, Kaskade’s music captures the joys of life, the allure of love, and the embodiment of happiness - making a NYC sunset the perfect time for his set. J.Worra, who identifies as part of the LGBTQ community, has crafted a unique sound sprinkling a hint of old-school house music with a dash of what’s hot in techno. This tech-house maven and DJ Mag’s 2019 Breakthrough Music Producer of the year has proven that she’s an impactful force on and off stage.

“If you’ve followed my career or have listened to my music you know that everything I do can be traced back to the earliest House Music days in Chicago. The clubs were alive and vibrant and heavily influenced by the gay DJ’s, dancers, producers and music lovers. It’s exciting to now be playing on the Dreamland stage, as an homage to my LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters that have been with me on this journey and the ones who paved the way.” - Kaskade.

The wildly talented DJ-producer duo Coco & Breezy bring double the pleasure and fun in everything! These modish twins love house music, R&B, and pop, and Afro-Latino grooves, all of which have become the DNA of the C&B sound. Carola was the first female artist to release on Martin Garrix’s STMPD Records, who’s known to work your body with hypnotic basslines. This self-taught has amassed over 20 million plays across multiple streaming services, and her buzzworthy tunes have been supported by some of electronic music’s biggest names, including Martin Garrix, SOFI TUKKER, David Guetta, Don Diablo, and Alok.

L.A.-based DJ Spencer Huff and Matt Suave are offering Ezoo fans a treat with a special b2b set. Huff specializes in tech house, prog house, and nu-disco fusion, while Suave is mostly a self-proclaimed “househead.” In 2020, Spencer made his performance debut at Utopia, an LGBTQ+ music festival in Mexico and since has had remarkable success, even becoming  the resident DJ of Jake Resnicow. As for classical opera singer turned DJ-producer Suave, he’s played alongside Derrick Carter, LP Giobbi, and other top-notch artists, and he plans to launch an LGBTQ-focused DJ podcast later this year. Also joining in on the fun will be numerous live and immersive performances by Bob’s Dance Shop!

The lineup for Electric Zoo showcases an unparalleled lineup, featuring performances and exciting collaborations from Marshmello, Alison Wonderland, Big Gigantic, Honeyluv, Chris Lake, John Summit, Moore Kismet, Skream, The Blessed Madonna, GRiZ, and plenty more.
