Inside John Summit's 'Experts Only' - A Record Label Redefining the Music Industry Game
We all know John Summit, and if you're familiar with him, you know about his record label, Experts Only.
Founded by Mr. Summit, Experts Only serves as a platform to showcase new talent, curate events, and promote music that aligns with Summit’s vision. The label has featured incredibly talented artists such as Ellis Moses, Silver Panda, Shaded, Odd Mob, Omnom, Mau P, and many other notable musicians.
Experts Only is a record label that specializes in featuring up and coming artists that introduce a hot new sound that Summit believes will rock the house music scene up, even more than usual.
What is so admirable about Summit’s label is how he incorporates individuality and his perspective of musical expression.
What separates Experts Only from other record labels is the fact that it features artists that perhaps are not long standing in the musical field. Summit gives new artists a chance for their work to flourish and gain popularity - and take it from us, he has not missed.
Beyond just the artists represented under Experts Only being unique and novel, Summit has experimented with several new territories for hosting shows. One specifically that stood out was the rave hosted in the Caverns in the middle of Tennessee. I mean come on, what a way to reel people in. We’ve all been to a rave at an open park, but most of us have never stepped foot into a random cave, let alone to party to house music all night long.

But Summit has done it, and what a success it was. As Summit himself gained more and more popularity and reached higher highs, he then hosted a show in a Stadium in Los Angeles. I mean, screw a concert hall, Summit wanted the whole damn stadium. And look for yourself, to no surprise it was a complete success.

Summit of course enjoys his typical performances at the usual spots like Club Space - in his now hometown Miami - and the other typical annual festivals, but one thing we can say for sure, is Summit is a true expert at venturing into new territories.
Experts Only just announced their upcoming shows at Lake Tahoe March 2nd, 2024 and another show in Vail Colorado, on February 17th, 2024. When one thinks of a rave venue, they typically would not picture it in these colder climates, but leave it to the expert to only keep us on our toes.
Summit has created immense success for himself with the music he creates, but what he has done with his record label is commendable. A large chunk of his success comes from being a risk taker, and we greatly admire that. I guess we can agree that Summit is an EXPERT at risk-taking, because they ONLY lead to inspiring outcomes. Keep it up, we are thrilled to see where else Summit and Experts Only will explore next.
