Josh Wink 

Josh Wink, born Joshua Winkelman in 1970, is an American electronic music DJ, producer, and label owner. He is widely recognized for his significant contributions to the house and techno music scenes.

Josh Wink began DJing in the late 1980s in Philadelphia, where he was influenced by a mix of punk rock, jazz, and early electronic music. His breakthrough came in the mid-1990s with the release of seminal tracks like "Higher State of Consciousness" (1995) and "Don't Laugh" (1995). These tracks became iconic in the rave and acid house scenes, known for their distinctive acid lines and innovative production styles.

Wink is renowned for his work in the acid house genre, utilizing the Roland TB-303 synthesizer to create the squelchy, resonant sounds that truly define the style. Beyond acid house, Wink has explored and contributed to various sub genres of techno and house, often blending elements from different styles to create unique and enduring tracks.

Known for his meticulous approach to sound design, Wink's tracks often feature complex layers, evolving textures, and hypnotic rhythms, which have inspired many producers and DJs.

In 1994, Wink co-founded Ovum Recordings with King Britt. The label has been instrumental in promoting and nurturing talent within the electronic music scene. Ovum has released music from a wide range of influential artists, helping to shape the sound of house and techno over the past few decades. The label's output is known for its quality and innovation.

Wink has remained a prominent figure in the electronic music scene for over three decades, consistently evolving his sound and staying relevant. His music and DJ sets have had a significant impact worldwide, influencing both the mainstream and underground scenes.

As a respected veteran, Wink often shares his knowledge and experience with up-and-coming artists, contributing to the growth and development of the electronic music community.

Some of his notable albums include "Left Above the Clouds" (1996), "Herehear" (1998), and "When a Banana Was Just a Banana" (2009). These albums showcase his versatility and enduring creativity. 

In addition to "Higher State of Consciousness" and "Don't Laugh," tracks like "How's Your Evening So Far?" (2000) and "Are You There?" (2002) are also highly regarded. To add to the note of remaining a prominent figure amongst the house music scene, modern day Chris Lake has a remix of the iconic track “How’s Your Evening So Far?” (Rumor has it, the track is unreleased, so you gotta dig for it)
