Everything You Need to Know About HARD Summer 2024

Get ready to go HARD this summer because the ultimate music festival experience is back and bigger than ever! We're talking about HARD Summer 2024, the electrifying event that's set to light up Hollywood Park on August 3-4. From jaw-dropping headliners to killer special guests, this year's lineup is stacked with the hottest names in electronic music. Whether you're a festival veteran or a first-timer, here's everything you need to know to make the most out of this epic weekend.

Festival History

HARD Summer began in 2007 in downtown L.A., founded by Gary Richards, who had a storied career in the rave scene and as a dance music A&R executive for Rick Rubin’s American Recordings, A&M, and Interscope. The inaugural HARD show, held on New Year’s Eve, was a near-disaster but ultimately a pivotal moment. Despite production issues and financial losses, the event attracted 5,000 attendees and showcased the unique fusion of dance music with hip-hop and punk rock influences. This blend of genres set HARD Summer apart and paved the way for its rise as EDM became a global phenomenon.

Over the years, HARD Summer has maintained a diverse lineup, featuring not only electronic acts but also hip-hop, rock, and R&B artists such as The Weeknd, Ice Cube, Odd Future, and Bloc Party. This eclectic approach has helped the festival grow steadily, even amidst a volatile market. In 2012, Live Nation partnered with HARD Events, expanding the festival's capacity and reach, including the creation of HARD-themed cruises and international festivals.
