Artist Spotlight: Mochakk
Brazilian DJ Pedro Maia, also known as Mochakk, is a 23 year old electronic mastermind full of energy and passion. With an innate ability to ignite any party with his infectious energy and magnetic charisma, Mochakk has quickly become a crowd favorite.
His sets are a masterful blend of electronic genres, seamlessly weaving together beats that never fail to get the crowd moving. Mochakk is not only known for his talent when it comes to producing music, but he is also known for his ability to create a hustling electric atmosphere. Mochakk ensures that every event he plays is an unforgettable experience filled with incredible music and fiery vibes that resonate long after the last track drops.
Mochakk has released numerous tracks all varying in sound and even incorporating some of his own unique taste into some of them. A crowd favorite, and dare to say a ‘classic’, is his track ‘Da Fonk’ featuring Joni released under Nervous Records. This track alone has almost 10 Million plays on Spotify. This track features unique and powerful vocals, incorporates instruments, and to tie it all together, a booming beat to create what we can call a FUNKY track.
Mochakk has been producing music for years, but with the power of the internet and social media, it seems that his career has exponentially grown within this past year alone. Mochakk played an exclusive DJ set with Cercle Music and Volcan X.A at Plaza de Espana in Sevilla, Spain. Mochakk described that playing this set was an attempt to musically express both the feelings of beginning a lifetime career and also yearning for his special youthful moments in his home country. Moreover, Mochakk released a track ‘NO8DO’, which he explains is like a love letter from Brazil to Spain. The track evokes a certain sensation and simply by listening to it, the audience can feel it too. To be able to include a feeling within electronic music is what makes being a DJ so unique and quite difficult. To connect with your crowd beyond just the audio perspective is an extraordinary talent of his.
Not only does Mochakk deliver emotion within his tracks, he just outright knows how to get the crowd moving with his infectious energy when he performs and his overall ear for good music. He just announced that he will be releasing his new track ‘Jealous’ under Circoloco Records this Friday, August 25th.
