Welcome to the Jungle: How London’s Funky Trio Keeps us Swinging & Grooving

Jungle, Jungle, Jungle, man where do we start? There is oh so much we can say about this band, so much we had to begin with it three times. Okay fine, four. JUNGLE - Where have you been all our lives?

Hailing all the way from London—of course, because that’s where the best talent comes from—and formed in 2013, Jungle has climbed the ropes straight to the top. I guess, somewhat like Tarzan, you could say. Jungle is notorious for their unique, catchy, and energetic sound that we all simply cannot get enough of.

The band originally consisted of Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland, but in 2024, Jungle officially welcomed Lydia Kitto as a permanent member. Lydia, who had been a longtime collaborator and touring vocalist, brings her multi-instrumental talents and stunning vocals to the group, adding even more depth to Jungle’s already rich sound. Together, this powerhouse trio continues to push the boundaries of funk, soul, and electronic music. This dynamic trio isn’t just about the music; they’ve built an entire vibe, blending their love for neo-soul, disco, and electronic elements into a sound that’s unmistakably Jungle.

Let’s talk about the highlights, shall we? Jungle’s debut album, ‘Jungle’, earned a Mercury Prize nomination in 2014, cementing their status as serious players in the music scene. And they didn’t stop there. Their follow-ups, For Ever (2018), Loving in Stereo (2021), and Volcano (2023), took their sound to even greater heights, with each album delivering hits that dominate playlists and festival stages alike. Tracks like “Busy Earnin’,” “Casio,” and “Candle Flame” have become modern anthems, blending funk, soul, and electronic beats in ways that keep fans hooked.

More recently, their track “Back on 74” has lit the electronic music scene like wildfire with its catchy and contagiously groovy sound. Their most recent release “Keep Me Satisfied” will do exactly that - take a listen for yourself.

Oh and their music videos? Oh, don’t even get us started. Jungle is as much about the visuals as they are about the sound. Talk about a sensational band. Known for their stunning one-take choreography-heavy videos, like “The Heat” and “Time,” they’ve turned dance into an essential part of their storytelling.

And if you’re wondering where you can catch them next, Jungle’s touring schedule is as exciting as their music. They’ve announced shows across the globe, including stops in major cities like Berlin, Amsterdam, and Paris. Oh, and if you’re lucky enough to score tickets, their live performances are nothing short of electric. We’re talking about a full band, infectious energy, and vibes that will leave you smiling long after the final encore.

Some of their upcoming tour dates:

  • CRSSD Festival in San Diego, CA - March 1st, 2025

  • DGTL Amsterdam - April 18th, 2025

  • Hangar Festival, Brussels - April 19th, 2025

So, Jungle, Jungle, Jungle - keep swinging from those vines and delivering the funk we never knew we needed.
